Mrs. Gloria J. Peabody, age 59, of Trumansburg, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 1:30 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards with their nephew, Rev. James Peabody officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Fine.
Gloria was born on October 25, 1950 in Carthage to the late Milton and Helen (Perrigo) Jackson. She grew up in Pitcairn and attended school in Gouverneur, NY. Gloria was an outdoors person who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and crafts.
She married George I. Peabody, Jr. on April 15, 1967 in the Pitcairn Wesleyan Church. The couple has lived most of their life in St. Lawrence County; having lived in Trumansburg over the past twelve years.
Mrs. Peabody is survived by her husband George; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lorna) Dietz of Newfield, Cindy Peabody of Enfield, Mrs. Kenny (Christina) Vanetten of Newfield, Kathy Peabody and her fiancée, Larry Wells of Newfield, and Mrs. Scott (Sandra) Kenjerski of Tennessee; two sons, George I. Peabody III of Spencer, and James (Michele) Peabody of Newfield; a sister, Beth Matice; four brothers, Orly, Donnie, Larry, and Robert Jackson; and 27 grandchildren and her beloved dog, Kelly.
