Gertrude F. Smith, age 83, of Massena, and formerly of Potsdam, passed away on Monday, October 03, 2011 at the Massena Memorial Hospital. She was currently a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home.
Funeral Services for Gertrude will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 4pm at the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, with Rev. Andrew Amyotte officiating. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Wednesday from 2-4. Burial will follow the service at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville.

Gertrude is survived by her two daughters, Carline (Michael) Moulton and Kathie (Ted) Ashley; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; her sisters, Marion Koch and Lillian Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and William Smith.
Gertrude F. Smith was born January 20, 1928 in Potsdam, to the late Gurley and Anna Hummel Smith. She attended Potsdam Schools. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved animals.
