Funeral services for George A. Jolly, age 60, of Cary, North Carolina, will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evans Mills Cemetery. Mr. Jolly passed away on January 4, 2011.
Mr. Jolly is survived by his mother, Martha Jolly of Hammond; two brothers, Dan Jolly and his wife Sue of Lisbon and Rick Jolly and Tammi of Alexandria Bay; five sisters, Linda Williams and her husband Stan of Oswego, Carol Ferguson and her husband Ron of Hammond, Luanne Herzog and her husband Mike of Ogdensburg, Lori Milsap and her husband Dale of Hammond, and Gina McCormick and her husband John of Ogdensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Harry; and two brothers, Ronald and Lee.
Mr., Jolly was born on November 8, 1950 in Alexandria Bay, the son of Harry and Martha (Williams) Jolly. He graduated from Hammond High school in 1968. He graduated from Jefferson Community College with a degree in liberal arts. After attending JCC, he received training from Nortel Training Facility. He serviced in the US Navy from January 1969 to December 1973. He was employed by Nortel Networks where he was a senior Engineer in the Raleigh Durhum area. While working for Nortel Networks, Mr. Jolly was a member of the Scientific Staff where he recently retired.
Mr. Jolly enjoyed computers, going to the Casinos. He loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews and vacationing north to visit with his family. He was a member of the AMVETS and the American Legion.
