A mass of resurrection for George C. Williams, 76, of Chase Mills, will be Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church in Louisville. Friends and family may be received on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St.
Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in the spring. George passed away on Jan. 5, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and hospice.
George is survived by a son, Steven of Chase Mills; and many nieces and nephews, among them are Allen and Joan McGlaughlin of Massena, and Jean Austin of Malone.
George was born on December 8, 1934 in Massena the son of George C. and Viola (Perry) Williams. He attended Massena Schools, after graduation he joined the Army. George married Eleanor Castagnier on April 16, 1966 with Rev. Tobin presiding. Mrs. Williams predeceased him in 2005. He worked at NYSPA from 1958 and retired in 1993 as a line foreman.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, AmVets, and American Legion. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.
