Whether it was cutting wood, farming, or spending time at his camp in St. Regis Falls, he loved being outdoors.
Gaylord is survived by his three children, Harold Baxter and his fiancé, Michelle Johnson of Norfolk, Patrick Baxter of Florida and Christine and Frank Hillenbrand of Massena; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy and Gordon Arquette of Brookdale and Irene Smith of Watertown.
He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Baxter on July 18, 2010, his brothers, William, Darrel and Allen Baxter; and two sisters, Ruth Roach and Doris Brothers.
