A Mass of Resurrection for Florence "Tackie" L. White, 79 will be held on Friday (November 4, 2011) at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena. Friends and family may be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Tackie passed away on Novemember 1, 2011 at Massena Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy and wife Sheila of Brewerton, Wayne J. and wife Tammy of Norfolk, and Kent and wife Eileen of Webster; and 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was the last of eight children. Tackie was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers, Irene Fayette, Beatrice White, Joyce Wright, Stella Beggs, Jennie Brown, Roy Clemmo and John Clemmo.
Tackie was born on September 20, 1932 in Massena the daughter of Henry and Ethel (Revier) Clemmo. She married Gerald N. White on December 15, 1961 at the Church of the Sacred Heart by Rev. Joseph Dowd. Mr. White predeceded her in death in 2005. Tackie was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart.Tackie and her late husband Gerald enjoyed square dancing for many years. Tackie was an avid card player and an outdoor camper.
