Funeral services for Fern A. Klock, 87, of St. Joseph's Home, Ogdensburg and formerly of Gouverneur, will be held Wednesday July 28, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Green Funeral Home in Gouverneur with the Rev. James Warrington, pastor of the Macomb Community Wesleyan Church officiating and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Richville. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Klock passed away peacefully on July 26, 2010 in Ogdensburg.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Shampine of Sorrento, Louisiana, Sally and Hugh McElhearn of Canton, and Sandra and James Hyde of Hammond; and seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kenneth Jr; two brothers, Harry and Donald Yerdon; and four sisters, Frances Hutton, Grace Glasby, Dorothy Claflin, and Betty Cutrie.
Fern was born in Gouverneur, December 29, 1922 to Floyd R. and Jessie Ames Yerdon. She married Kenneth W. Klock on February 24, 1940 in Gouverneur. Mr. and Mrs. Klock owned and operated a dairy farm near Richville. Fern also worked at Gouverneur High School from 1979-1983 on the custodial staff.
