Funeral services for 97-year old Mrs. Ethel M. Daily, former resident of Mayfield Apts in Potsdam, and Parishville will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Pastor Lee Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Southville Cemetery Town of Stockholm.
Friends may call at Seymour Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Parishville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Mrs. Daily died October 19, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Home in Ogdensburg.
She is survived by a sister, Reta Russell of Potsdam; and several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband; three brothers, Raymond, Arthur and Earl H. Burlingame; and a sister, Ruth who died in infancy.
Ethel was born in the Town of Stockholm, on May 30, 1913 the daughter of Gardner Dempster Burlingame and Flora Mae (Fefee) Burlingame. She attended district schools in Norwood and Stockholm. On December 29, 1937 Ethel married William Daily. Mr. Daily died February 24, 1959.
Ethel was employed for many years in the Food service Dept. at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. She was a former member of the Parishville United Methodist Church, and the Parishville "Hilltoppers" Senior Citizens Club.
