Emma D. Rose, 98, of Farmer Street, Canton, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late Wesley W. Rose (4/11/70).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17 at 11:15 am at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton with Rev. Kathleen Buckley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Canton.
Born Feb. 8, 1913 in Massena, NY daughter of Paul and Elsie (McClymont) Drew, she graduated Massena Schools in 1930.
On October 18, 1939 she married Wesley W. Rose.
Emma was and Administrative Assistant to the Dean for Canton A.T.I., retiring at the age of 75. On June 10, 2011 she was inducted into the SUNY Canton Hall of Fame. She was a devoted Canton College hockey fan, housing players and traveling with the team.
She was a member of the EJ Noble Hospital Guild, a Red Cross Nurses’ Aid, an avid bowler and member of Gray Lanes; she competed in numerous state tournaments. She enjoyed her time spent at the cottage at Alex Bay and in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Surviving are her daughters, Sue Bullock of Canton, and Margaret “Peg” Healy of Florida; ten grandchildren, Glenn (Jeff), Joe, Amy, Meg, Beth, Kate, Rus, Tim, Paul and Patrick and twenty four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Wesley and infant twin sons William and Robert, her parents Paul Drew and Elsie Ramsey, a sister Pauline Drew, her son-in-law Harold “Hal” Bullock and a great-grandson Drew Aldous.
