Graveside services for Emerson W. Brooks, age 68 of Sand Street in Brier Hill will be held on Saturday (July 23, 2011) at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingham Cemetery with Pastor David Sheppard officiating.
Mr. Brooks died Monday evening at his home surrounded by his family. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is his mother, Irene of Brier Hill; two brothers, George “Bub” Brooks and his wife Bonnie of Heuvelton and Joe Brooks and his companion Judy of Chameau; three sisters, Mary Cobb and her husband Chuck of Brier Hill, Theresa Aldrich and her husband Si of Ogdensburg, and Shirley Bass and her husband Rick of Hammond; along with nieces, nephews great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Theron; a brother, John; and a sister, Marjorie Kingston.
Emerson was born on December 26, 1942 in the Town of Macomb the son of Theron & Irene (Flight) Brooks. He received his education from Morristown High School and began working on the family farm. He then went to work at Perretta’s Packing Co where he worked for 15 years. After leaving Perretta’s he continued working on area farms until he retired at age 62. He enjoyed square dancing, traveling, working and watching TV.
Memorial contributions have been requested to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or the Brier Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
