Ely J. Titley, 77, formerly of Massena

Ely J. Titley, 77, husband of Irene Fitzgerald Titley, died on Sunday, December 25, at Midstate Medical Center surrounded by his wife and daughters.

Ely was born in Massena on January 13, 1934. He was the son of the late John and Lydia Fournier Titley. Ely had resided in Meriden for the past 47 years and graduated from Massena High School. Mr. Titley was employed by AKR Associates of Newington, retiring one year ago. He was a peacetime Veteran of the U.S. Army. Ely was an avid golfer, reader, and a great sports fan.

Besides his wife Irene, he is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Erin and Mark Schwarz of Beacon Falls, CT, and Dione and Matthew Sordi of Sandy Hook, CT; five grandsons, Charles, Jon, and James Schwarz and Luke and Aidan Sordi; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Robert Matusek; cousins, Joyce and Reid Fitzgerald; a niece, Colleen Fitzgerald; and three nephews, Lance, Reid, and Dann Matusek. Ely was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Titley.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be held on Friday, December 30, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT 06451. There are no calling hours.
