Elwood Lauber, 73, formerly of Massena, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at his home in Hampstead, N.C.
He is survived by his companion Margaret of Massena, and 4 daughters; Tammy and Randy Snyder of Hampstead, N.C., Terilyn and David Gipson of Fort Smith, AK, Julie and Larry Joiner of Atlanta, Ga., and Jill and Ryan Brown of Rochester, as well as a stepdaughter, Tammy Rogers and fiancé, Scott Kocher of Waddington; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Allen Lauber, and 5 sisters: Beatrice Carr, Marion LaPrade, Lottie Emstrom, Katherine Banks and Ruth King.
Elwood was born on March 16, 1938 in Massena, son of the late Elmer and Ida Bezanson Lauber.
He worked for the Town of Massena Highway Department from 1958 to 1993, when he retired.
He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, country music, traveling and living in the south.
There will be no calling hours, as per his wishes.
