Private graveside service for Ella Michaelis Rogers, 87, Potsdam and Hannawa Falls, will be held at the convenience of the family. Mrs. Rogers passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus, Canton.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Contributions in her memory may be made to United Helpers Maplewood Campus, 205 State Street Road, Canton, New York 13617.
Surviving Ella are two sons, William and Rebecca Rogers of Hannawa Falls and Thomas Rogers of Hannawa Falls, eight grandchildren, Michael Rogers of N.C., David Rogers and wife Amy of CT, Tara Rogers, Long Beach, Jacqueline Rogers of Plattsburgh, Lisa Rogers of IL, Kimberley Rogers of MO, Jessica Rogers of IL and Peter Rogers of Saranac Lake; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jamie and Eli.
Ella is predeceased by a son John Rogers.
Ella was born August 14, 1923 in Lanark, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Martin and Meta Michaelis. She graduated from the Stillwater High School, Stillwater, Minnesota. Ella served in the Women’s Marine Corps during WWII from 1943-1945. She married William E. Rogers in September 1945. He predeceased her in 1988.
