Funeral Services for Elaine Brabant, age 84, formerly of King St., will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Notre Dame Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. F James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be held in the spring. Calling hours will be held Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. She passed away Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Michelle.
Mrs. Brabant is survived by her children, Dorinda and her husband Paul Mallette of Heuvelton, Susan and her husband Craig Montroy of Bloomfield, NM, and Michelle and her husband William Dillabough of Ogdensburg; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Brabant.
Mrs. Brabant was born on December 9, 1927 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Lawrence and Marjorie Needle Nego. She attended George Hall Trade School. She was married to Donald Brabant on December 20, 1952 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A.D. Charbonneau officiating. Before her marriage, Mrs. Brabant worked as an alterations seamstress at Empsall’s Department Store. She was a homemaker and member of the Alter and Rosary Society at Notre Dame Church.
Mrs. Brabant was an avid seamstress and crafter. Her greatest love was serving her husband, her children and her church.
