MASSENA -- Effie L. Warren, 86, quietly and peacefully passed away early Monday morning, June 10, 2019 in the comfort of her home.
Effie was born August 22, 1932 in Massena, the daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Alma B. (Clauesson) Learned and was a graduate of Massena High School. On September 19, 1953, she married Wendell D. Warren at the Massena First United Methodist Church with Rev. W.O. Thomas, officiating. He predeceased her on March 29, 2015.
Effie was an account clerk for PACES at Potsdam State for many years until her retirement on June 15, 1994. She enjoyed golfing, reading and when younger, she and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling and boating.
She is survived by her children, Scott and Kathleen Warren of North Syracuse and Wendy and Douglas Harrison of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Brittany and Ashley Warren and Kale (Bhanu) and Kelsey Harrison; a great granddaughter, Aria; her nieces, Karen Haslauer, Dorothy Ratowski, and Sandra Curtis; her brother and sister-in-law, Smitty and Nancy Warren of South Colton; and her sister-in-law, Norma Robideau of Ithaca.
In addition to her parents and husband, Effie was predeceased by her sisters, Thelma Newbold and Dorothy Ratowski and her brother, Lloyd Learned.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
