Funeral services for Edward D. Enslow, age 85, of County Route 28, Lisbon will be held Friday (Oct 11, 2013) at 10:00 a.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Reggie Curtis officiating. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Enslow passed away Sunday (Oct 6, 2013) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Surviving is his wife, Irene; three daughters and their spouses, June and Brian Steele of Springfield, MA, Murleen and Roger Cameron of Potsdam, and Lisa Enslow and Ken Delorenzo of Avon, CT; eight grandchildren, Jason Steele, Brian Steele Jr., Kirsten Steele, Sommer Giordano, Mandy Giordano, Kelsey Wickham, Keilly Wickham, and Se’amus Wickham; two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Steele and Jamison Giordano; two step-grandchildren, Jason Cameron and his wife Val and Robert Cameron and his wife Ashley; five step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Bernard “Butch” and Marybeth Spriggs; sister-in-law Pat Laviolette; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Jr. and Robert Enslow; and a sister, Doris Eells-Marchat.
Ed was born on June 8, 1928 in Pierrepoint, a son of the late Thomas & Edna (Shea) Enslow. He attended Pierrepont Country Schools and enlisted with the US Army Airforce from 1946 – 1949. He married Irene M. Stevens on October 6, 1954 at the Ogdensburg Methodist Church. During his career he was employed with Sharps Auto, Emmett Morley Construction, Wigwam Trailer Park & CW Green as a laborer until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed construction projects, repairing lawn mowers, building saw horses & picnic tables, traveling and spending time with his family.
