Funeral services for 58 year old Duane C. Cole, 131 State Highway 68, Colton, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Edwin Wright presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mr. Cole passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home.

Duane is survived by his wife, Christine, Colton; two sons, Travis and Stacie Cole, South Colton and Brent Cole and his fiancé Whitney Church, Colton; his four grandchildren, Morgan, Joslyn, Paisley and Reid; his four brothers, Vernon Cole Jr. “Spike”, Colton, Jeffrey and Grace, Zephyrhills, FL, Kevin and Paula, Colton and Darrell and Jennifer, Colton; and his sister, Mrs. Sandra Spoon, Rome, NY.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, Paul Spoon.

He was born in Potsdam on November 14, 1953 to the late Vernon Cole Sr. and Florence Fisher. He graduated from Colton Pierrepont Central School. He married Christine M. Trimm on November 14, 1980. The fourteenth of November is special because it was both of Duane’s and Christine’s birthdays as well as their wedding anniversary. He worked for the Town of Colton for the DPW in the sewer and water department.

He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish, and loved being around animals. Duane enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
