Mrs. Dorothy Randall, age 78, of Potsdam, and formerly of the Glenmeal Road in the town of Canton, passed away at her residence at the Midtown Apartments in the village of Potsdam on Thurday, May 5, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam with Rev. Donald Wolfe officiating.
Burial will follow the service at the Garfield Cemetery in Potsdam. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Parishville Hilltopper’s Seniors Club or to the charity of one’s choice.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ronald) Butterfield, and Vickie (Bruce) Hanson; her son, Steven (Carol) Randall; stepson Garrison (Norene) Randall; stepdaughters Mary Finley and Darlene (Roger) Whitmore; sisters Marie MacDonald, Elizabeth “Betty” Wright, Joyce Russell and Linda Hayes; her brother, Richard Butterfield; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Randall; a son, Ronald Randall; granddaughter Misty Hanson; brothers Charles and Everett Butterfield; and a sister, Shirley Butterfield.
Dorothy Randall was born March 18, 1933 in Potsdam, to the late Lawrence and Margaret Butterfield. She attended Colton Schools. She was married to Earl Randall November 9,1955. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very active in many senior citizen clubs. She also enjoyed camping and dancing.
