Dorothy Jean Mott Adams passed away on April 26, 2014 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital where she had been admitted on April 25th. Mrs. Adams was a resident of West Stockholm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 3 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Service with Rev. John Frary. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at the West Potsdam Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Rochester, NY December 12, 1939 to Orin and Lois Moerman Mott. She was a 1958 graduate of Potsdam Central High School. In June of 1958 she married Joseph Branchaud. The marriage ended in divorce. In October of 1978 she married Clark Adams. They lived in Raymondville. Clark died May 31, 1994. Dorothy moved to West Stockholm in 1996.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Jean; and two grandchildren who reside in Florida; as well as many cousins and good friends.

She was predeceased by husband, Clark Adams; and a step son, Gary Adams.

Dorothy worked at Mr. Donut in Potsdam from 1978 until 1983. She then was a cook at Beta Tau Fraternity from 1983 until 1994. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, reading, TV, talking on the phone with friends and shopping. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice or to the Local Food Pantry.
