Private memorial services for 85-year old Mrs. Dorothy Helen Lockwood will be held at the convenience of the family. She died November 29, 2010 at the home of her son and daughter in law, William Boslet and Julie Greene-Boslet of Potsdam.
Other survivors include three daughters, Roberta Conrey and her partner Elizabeth DiBonaof Burnt Hills, Shirley Lane-Konetzni and her husband Vice Admiral Albert H.Konetzni, Ret., of Chesapeake, VA, and Mrs. Raymond (Rebecca Larcher of Cary, NC; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Judge of North Stonington, CT; and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dorothy was born February 23, 1925 in Ilion, the daughter of Robert Kenneth and Gladys E. (Henza) Fox. She graduated from Frankfort New York High School in 1942 and received an Associate’s degree from Canton Agricultural and Technical College in the field of Clothing construction and design in 1945.
For many years Dorothy taught sewing in the adult educational program at Fort Plain High School. She worked for the former Carl Co. Dept. Store in Schenectady for twelve years. Dorothy was a highly skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting in later years.
She was married to Walter Shultz Boslet at the Frankfort Baptist Church in Frankfort, on October 20, 1946. The marriage ended in divorce. A second marriage to David Vail Lockwood was on October 16, 1976 at the Lutheran Parish House in Fort Plain. Mr. Lockwood died May 29, 2009. Dorothy was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia.
