Funeral services for Dolores Strader, age 78, of Ogdensburg, will be held on November 2, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Sister Mary Teresa LaBrake officiating. Interment will be held at Foxwood Memorial Park. Calling hours will be held on November 1, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Strader passed away on October 25, 2010 at Highland Nursing Home in Massena.
Mrs. Strader is survived by a daughter, Sandra Putney and her husband Ray L. of Lisbon; a son, Michael (Atsiaktonkie) Strader of Massena; three brothers, Joe Maloney of Lisbon, Timothy Maloney of Watertown and Richard Maloney of Jay; four grandchildren, Ray A., Kenneth, Ioweráte (Yo Walatdáy) and Rorohronhakies (Low LOW loonhugyes); and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Julie Dionne in 2005.
Mrs. Strader was born on September 16, 1932 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Timothy and Julia (Schneider) Maloney. She attended local schools. She married Allen Strader at St. Mary’s Rectory on December 3, 1951. He passed away in 1996. She first worked for Surprise Store, later working for the National Army Store as a retail clerk.
Mrs. Strader was a member of the Maple City Prop Buster Auxiliary. Mrs. Strader enjoyed bowling, helping her daughter with Girl Scouts and was known as a hockey mom.
