Dianne S. Raven, age 68, of Chub Lake Rd., Fowler, passed away at home on Saturday, June 18, 2011 under the loving care of her family and, recently, Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Dianne was born on May 14, 1943 in Gouverneur to the late William H. and Beverly (Cordwell) Draper. She graduated from Morristown Central School in 1960 and CCBI in Syracuse in 1962 with a legal secretary diploma. She worked for an insurance agency and AAA, and then was secretary to the elementary and high school principals at OFA in Ogdensburg.
A marriage to Gene Davis ended in divorce. She married Ronald Raven on June 11, 1977 in Gouverneur. Dianne was a homemaker who loved doing crafts and restoring furniture. In later years she became an artist specializing in tole-painting, folk-art and primitive. She owned a small shop known as “Ravens’ Roost” in Richville, then went on to become a vendor for years in large juried shows with much success. (She must have inherited her painting talents from her aunt, Nonnie Caswell).
She enjoyed her grandchildren, animals, flower gardening, the pool, puzzles, knitting, reading, bowling, yard sales, bird watching, casinos, antiques, collectibles, travel and camping.
Dianne is survived by her daughter, Tracie (Davis) Prashaw; son Jeffrey Davis; grandchildren Jared and Rachael Prashaw; brother William Draper and his wife, Dianna Johnson; son-in-law Tim Prashaw; and two nephews, and aunt and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ronald Raven who died on August 5, 2008.

There will be no calling hours. A reception will be held on Sunday, July 10th from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Gouverneur American Legion. Arrangements have been handled through French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
