David S. "Dave" Sanders died on February 23, 2014 in Carlsbad, California where he was living in retirement.
From 1970 to 1973, he was Chair of the Humanities Department at Clarkson University before returning to Harvey Mudd College and the Claremont Graduate School in California. His career in higher education spanned over 35 years and included one year in Salamanca, Spain as a Fulbright Scholar, and one term at the National Taiwan University as a visiting scholar.
From 1978 to 2001, he and his wife Mary spent their summers at their Lake Ozonia camp.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Scott Sanders of Crested Butte, CO, Bonnie Hall of Carlsbad, CA, and Peter Sanders of Greenville, SC.
Internment will be at El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, CA.
