CANTON – A funeral Mass for David Dewan, 58, of Canton will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas Lucia, celebrating.
Burial will be in the Purmort Cemetery in the spring.
Mr. Dewan passed away at home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
Friends may call at the O’Leary Funeral Home on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
Surviving David are his father, Duane Dewan of Canton; sisters, Roberta Dewan of N. Syracuse; Jeanne Brady and husband James of Heuvelton; Linda Dewan of Falls Church, Va.; Martha Howard of Hagaman; Patricia Crowder and husband Jack of Morehead City, Neb.; Carol LaSala of Canton; Rose Quaglia and husband Robert of Fayetteville; and Beth Dewan of Schenectady and by several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Paula and Judy and a niece Cindy predecease him.
David was born March 3, 1952 in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of Duane and the late Virginia (Howard) Dewan. He graduated from Canton High School in 1970, from SUNY Canton in 1972, Clarkson University in ’74 and later with a Master’s Degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from RPI.
David worked as an electrical engineer for GE in Pittsfield, Mass., and also was on the Ski Patrol. Most recently David worked night watch at the Academy at Ivy Ridge in Ogdensburg.
David enjoyed skiing, golf, reading and computers.
