David C. Brown, age 67, of Gouverneur passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 02, 2011 at his home on the Lockie Road.
Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 1:30 p.m. After the service, all are invited to Mullin’s Restaurant.
David was born on May 20, 1944 in Gouverneur to the late Robert C. and Lucille M. (Halford) Brown. He graduated from the Gouverneur High School in 1961 and from Delhi Technical College in 1963. David was a very skilled wrestler in high school and college and had also played baseball.
Mr. Brown was the supervising computer technician for Eastman – Kodak in Rochester from the early 1960’s until the late 1970’s. After he left Kodak, David worked various jobs in the Rochester area until moving back to the family farm on the Lockie Road in 1994. A marriage to Virginia Weckelman in 1966 ended in divorce in 1977.
His survivors include a son and his wife, Matthew D. and Karen Brown of Rochester; a daughter and her husband, Michelle D. and John Bonini of Westfield, MA; two sisters, Susan M. and her husband Richard VanOrnum of Esperance, and Sally A. Lewis of Gouverneur; two brothers and their wives, Robert T. and Judy Brown of Westfield, MA, and Frank G. and Madelyn Brown of Massena; four grandchildren, Levi and Georgia Brown, Nathan and Luke Bonini; an aunt and an uncle; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
