OGDENSBURG -- A Memorial Mass for Darlene A. Seymour, age 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 18, 2019 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Jay Seymour & Deacon James Crowley concelebrating.
Mrs. Seymour passed away at her home on Monday (May 13, 2019) surrounded by her family and friends. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her husband Joseph Seymour of Ogdensburg; a son Brian Seymour & his wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC; her mother Hilda St. Hilaire of Bombay, NY; grandchildren Alexander, Caitlyn & Declan Seymour; a brother Leon (Kathy)St. Hilaire of Brushton; four sisters Karen St. Hilaire & her life partner Pat McKeown of Massena, Monica (Ralph) Beebe of Malone, Ellyn St. Hilaire-Tabb & her husband Willie of Pierrepoint and Mary Jo Tuper and her fiancee’ Rick Berkeley of Camden, TN; along with many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews & cousins.
Her father Leon St. Hilaire and mother-in-law Clara Seymour predeceased her.
Darlene was born on February 19, 1952 in Bombay NY, the daughter of Leon & Hilda (Jock) St. Hilaire. She graduated from Salmon River Central School and continued her education at Mater Dei College and Potsdam State receiving a degree in Social Work. She later married Joseph T. Seymour on June 10, 1978.
During her career she worked as the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center first as a therapy aid and later retired as a social worker in 2002. She was a member of the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary, Notre Dame Parish, and past president of the Terra Mar Village Social Committee. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, crafts of all kinds, designing on her computer, winters spent in Florida, visiting her son and grandchildren in Charlotte, NC and being around her family and friends.
