Daniel A. Farrell, 65 of Toms River died on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at his home. Born in Ogdensburg, he lived in Jackson, NJ, before moving to Toms River in 1989. He was a Sheriff’s Officer for Ocean County, NJ for 18 years, retiring in June of 2011.
He was in the United States Navy for 21 years and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AM VETS, VFW, American Legion, and the FOP. He loved to play golf, and fix antique cars.
He is predeceased by his father, Arthur Farrell; and his infant son, Daniel in 1974. Surviving is his mother, Marie Laboda of Yardley, PA; two daughters, Melinda Farrell of Pinellas Park, FL, and Alison Farrell of Toms River, NJ; one sister, Sister Mary Lee Farrell of Yardley, PA; and step-siblings, Debbie Sullivan, Donna Logan, Bob Laboda and Jimmy Laboda of Ogdensburg.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday July 31, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 1, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Committal will be private.
