Mrs. Constance “Connie” M. Claflin, age 81 of Potsdam, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Monday the 26th from 4 - 7 p.m. Connie will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. Connie is survived by her loving husband, Ray Claflin Sr. of Potsdam; her son, Ray Claflin Jr. of Clifton Park; a daughter, Deborah (Timothy) Lagoe of Schuylerville; her sister, Shirley Andrews; a brother, Donald Wells; grandchildren Amanda and Meaghan Lagoe and Chelsey Claflin and several nieces and nephews.
Connie was born March 10, 1930 in Potsdam to the late Redmond and Hazel Mousaw Fuller. She attended Potsdam Schools. On June 15, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, she was married to Ray Claflin. Over the years Connie worked at Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Mill, Clarkson University, Potsdam Central School and then St. Mary’s School. She worked primarily in food service.
Connie enjoyed knitting, traveling, having a good time and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
