Charlotte M. Webb, 82 a resident of Rome Nursing Home since June 2010 died Wednesday evening September 29, 2010 in Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center New Hartford where she had been a patient since September 14, 2010.
Charlotte was born on April 21, 1928 in Potsdam the daughter of Charles E. and Bessie L. Williams Oakes. She attended school in Brasher Falls. She had been a resident of Kilts Road in Blossvale from 1956 until 2000 when she moved to 226 Farrier Ave in Oneida. She married Leamon Webb on June 22, 1948 in the Town of Stockholm. Mr. Webb died on December 21, 1999.
She was a loving caretaker of her family and had been employed at the former Stanton Paper Box Company in Oneida.
Charlotte was an avid doll collector, loved to ride her bicycle and enjoyed archery.
Surviving is her loving family, five children, Susan (Robert) Garramone of Westfield, IN, Leatha (Jim) Lowe of Verona, George Webb of Oneida, Lawrence (Donna) Webb of Oriskany Falls, Steven Webb of Islamorada, FL; one brother, Roger (Leona) Oakes of Brasher Falls; two sisters, Geraldine Willoughby of Hudson, Mary (Wayne) Ashley of Massena; three sister-in-laws, Leora Oakes of Brasher Falls, Kay Oakes of Massena and Betty Oakes of Northern, NY; ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a sister, Elmyra Jock; four brothers, Francis Oakes, Gordon Oakes, Lawrence Oakes and Harvey Oakes and sister-in-law Edna Webb.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Robert Casler officiating. Interment will be made in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Verona. Friends are invited and may call 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home 342 Main Street Oneida.
