Funeral services for Charles R. "Bob" Towe, age 76, of Ford Street in Ogdensburg, are incomplete with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Mr. Towe passed away at his home on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, while under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Charles was born on January 28, 1934 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Egbert & Rose (Jenner) Towe. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and enlisted in the US Airforce on February 25, 1953 until January 11, 1957 when he was honorably discharged. He then married Mary I. Hartley on January 3, 1958 in Cirencester, England and was employed at V.P. Sheet Metal Ltd in Cheltenbam, England until 1966. He then relocated back to the United States and began his long career with Alcoa Aluminum in Massena, where he worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of the Lisbon American Legion and enjoyed rides in the country, watching TV, traveling to England, socializing with friends and family and his pets. He was an exceptional husband and father throughout his life and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife Mary and son Jeremy Towe of Ogdensburg; a sister, Rosalie Towe of Ogdensburg; a brother, Terry Towe of Morristown and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A sister, Barbara Terrance and two brothers, Melvin & Floyd Towe predeceased him.
