Carl D. Mullin, 83, formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on November 15, 2010 surrounded by family in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
A memorial service for Carl will be held at 11:00 A.M., December 29, 2010 at the Hermon Cemetery with Luncheon to follow at the Gouverneur Methodist Church.Carl was born on February 8, 1927, in Macomb, son of Daniel and Ada Washburn Mullin.
He married Margaret (Peg) B. Melrose on December 15, 1948. Margaret passed away on February 20, 2001.
He is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Terry and James Streeter, Gouverneur, NY; Christina and Earl Dillon, Chippewa Bay, NY; Patti Mullin, Green Cove Springs, FL; and three sons and their spouses: James D. and Tammy, Gouverneur; Michael J. and Cindy, Dundee, NY; and Scott and Valerie Whitty, Jacksonville, FL; and a son-in-law, Michael Keter, Colorado Springs, CO.
He is also survived by a brother John, Gouverneur; two sisters, Helen Johnston, Gouverneur, and Francis Cady, Fort Collins, Colorado; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Carla Mullin-Keter; a brother Raymond; and three sisters: Dorothy: Majorie: and Marie Beagle; and a grandson, Michael A. Mullin.
Carl was a labor foreman for Rouse Construction, building North Country schools and worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway in Massena. He also worked for Perfetto & Whalen and International Talc before retiring to Florida.
Carl was a gentle and congenial man who enjoyed hunting, gardening, car shows, and watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy”.
