Funeral services for Blanche H. Blair, age 98, of Rensselaer Falls, will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Notre Dame Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery following funeral services. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Blair passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Blanche is survived by two daughters, Shirley Blair and Dona Schofell of Lisbon; a son, Raymond of Fort Pierce, Florida; a sister, P. Margaret Noble; six grandchildren, Lisa, Tammy, Vickie, Elaina, Jim and Eddie; and many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Judy, in infancy.
Blanche was born on June 7, 1915 in Russell, Ontario the daughter of Claude and Emma Miller Holman. She attended schools in Rensselaer Falls. She married Francis Blair on May 23, 1938 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A.D. Charbonneau officiating. She worked for a short time as a house keeper for the family of W. Averell Harriman in Ogdensburg. She and her husband owned a dairy farm in Brier Hill for many years.
Blanche enjoyed cooking, sewing and making quilts.
