Funeral service for Miss Barbara A. Bicknell, 79, of United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton will be held at Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011, Rev. Laurena Will officiating. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. the time of the service.
Surviving Barbara are her mother, Mrs. Winifred Bicknell, Potsdam; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Lundin of Dunkirk, and Mrs. George (Mary Lou) Davey of Black River; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her father, Mr. Frank Bicknell.
Barbara was born November 27, 1931 in Potsdam and was the daughter of Frank and Winifred Kelley Bicknell. She was a graduate of Parishville High School. Barbara formerly worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. and received a commendation for her many years of service, signed by J. Edgar Hoover.
Miss Bicknell enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, doing handwork and making Christmas decorations. She also enjoyed watching baseball, basketball and other sports, and watching the deer in the yard at her Mother’s home.
She was a former member of the Pennelville Fire Department Auxiliary and was a member of the Potsdam First Presbyterian Church.
