Funeral services for Ann J. (Gallagher) Dodds, age 71 of Haines City, FL and formerly of Ogdensburg will be held Saturday (Nov 16, 2013) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Francis Bateman officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral services from 12:00noon until the time of the service. Mrs. Dodds passed away (Oct 30, 2013) at the Good Sheppard Hospice Home in Auburndale, FL.
Surviving is her husband David of Haines City, FL; her son Stephen Dodds & his companion Dawn Bradley of Haines City; a grandchild Jordan Dodds of St. Cloud, FL; a brother Paul Gallagher of Potsdam, NY; two sisters Mary Singer & her husband John of Sparks, NV and Marie Mackey & her husband James of Claremont, FL; a brother-in-law Donald Dodds & his wife Virginia of Ogdensburg, NY and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Three brothers James, Willie & Donald "Bunky" Gallagher along with a sister Irene Parr predeceased her.
Ann was born on March 9, 1942 in Potsdam, NY a daughter of the late William & Gladys (Delisle) Gallagher.
She graduated from Potsdam High School in 1960, and married David H. Dodds on May 16, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Potsdam.
Early in her career she was employed at Kinney Drugs in Potsdam, Ames Department Store and the Anchor Down Motel in Ogdensburg. In 1971, she formed Ann's Day Care Center in Ogdensburg which she operated for 35 years until her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed ceramics, traveling and spending time with her family.
