Funeral services for Anita Louise Crowe, age 75, will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 2:00PM at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg with Rev. Tom Nichols officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 12:00PM up until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery immediately following the service. Anita passed away May 26, 2023 at Highland Nursing Home, Massena.

Norwood American Legion Post 68’s Memorial Day events begin with an initial “Bridge Ceremony” at about 10:45 a.m. There will be a 21-gun salute, prayer and a wreath dropped into the water from the bridge in Norwood. The buglers from the Brass Firemen will perform Taps.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is calling New York Governor Kathy Hochul to reserve what Stefanik says is an unconstitutional ban on natural gas appliances.
“Kathy Hochul’s radicalized, bloated $229 billion budget includes numerous aspects that will be disastrous for New Yorkers, but arguably one of the worst parts of the budget is her unconstitutional ban on natural gas appliances. Hochul clearly continues to pander to Far Left environmental groups that are completely out of touch with New Yorkers’ daily lives and well-being,” stated the Congresswoman.

St. Lawrence County pushing for broadband expansion in rural areas

CANTON — St. Lawrence County legislators are pushing an expansion of broadband services throughout the county, calling on the Development Authority of the North County (DANC) to be the catalyst for expansion.
Officials called for committing matching funds to the Northern Border Regional Commission in the resolution.

Register now for Canton Free Library summer reading program

CANTON — Registration is now open for this year’s children’s Summer Library Program at the Canton Free Library. The registration deadline is June 23.
This summer, the Canton Free Library will offer age-specific programs for children ages birth through 12 years. Please register kids 18 months through 12 years for their appropriate programs which will include great books, movement, crafts, games, music, and lots of summertime fun! The program runs for four weeks and begins on July 11th.

Goodwill luncheon May 31 in Norwood
