Flo Rida to headline SUNY Canton's Spring 2023 concert

CANTON — The SUNY Canton College Activities Board has announced one of the highest-selling rappers of all time will be the headliner for their Spring 2023 concert.
World-renowned recording artist Flo Rida will perform Saturday, April 15, at the Roos House Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center.
Tickets go on sale March 20, and general admission tickets are $50 for the public and $30 for SUNY Canton students and alumni. Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets will be available at the event for $75. Ticket purchase information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Breezy, cold weather returns to end weekend in St. Lawrence County

Breezy and cold weather is expected across St. Lawrence County today with scattered snow showers through early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Forecasters predict a much milder Monday with drier conditions through much of the week with more rain or snow showers by late Wednesday or Thursday.
NWS says the high today will be around 27 with winds at 16 mph and gusts as high as 29 mph.
Overnight the low will be around 21 with winds 9-11 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph, the service says.

Bombay resident charged with DWI in Massena

MASSENA -- A Bombay resident was charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday morning, according to state police.
Kyla M. Gray, 38, was charged with first-offense DWI at 4:10 a.m., officers said.
She was cited and released.

K-9 used during traffic stop leads to drug charge for Potsdam woman in Canton

CANTON -- A Potsdam woman was charged with drug possession following a traffic stop on State Highway 310 Saturday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Leann V. Spencer, 37, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to keep right, officers said.
Sheriff's K-9 Knowlton alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics and Spencer was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine.
She was cited and released.

Partridge Run Golf Course will open with new food vendor

CANTON – When the Partridge Run Golf Course opens for the season in late April, there will be food and drink available for golfers, trails users and the general public.
On Wednesday night, March 15, the village board agreed to enter into a food service contract with the Grub Tub, Inc., Canton, and owners Raymond Lobdell and Karen Stowell, who also own and operate GT’s Family Restaurant in Russell.

Meet and greet, membership drive with Norwood Senior Citizens slated for March 29

NORWOOD — The Norwood Senior Citizens Club is hosting a meet-and-greet and new membership drive on Wednesday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at the Norwood Municipal Building.
This meeting is for ages 50 years and up. Residents from Norwood, Potsdam and the surrounding areas are welcome.
A luncheon starts at 1 p.m. with fames at 2 p.m.
There will be door prizes; gifts for games; and a 50/50 raffle.
