Norwood Village Green names 2022 concert lineup
NORWOOD — The Norwood Village Green Concert Series has officially announced its upcoming 49th annual season of summer concerts.
The 2022 season will host 23 musical groups across 19 concerts, all hosted at the Liotta Bandshell on the Village Green.
The theme of the 2022 Series will be “From There to Here,” showcasing beloved local artists alongside talents from across North America and Canada.
Massena artist group calling for entries for juried show
MASSENA — The Massena Artists Association is holding a call for art for a juried show that begins on May 21 and concludes June 4.
The show opens with a reception from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on May 21 at the Massena Memorial Library during regular business hours.

Special Adoption Event hosted by Family Court and Social Services to be held May 19
CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Family Court in conjunction with the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services will host an Adoption Event on Thursday, May 19, in the Supreme Court Courtroom.
The event is scheduled to commence at noon and is slated to include the adoptions of nine children ranging in age from 1 to 19 years into five families.
This event’s goal is to finalize the children’s adoptions while celebrating family.

Former NY Yankee Bernie Williams to perform at SUNY Potsdam May 20
POTSDAM — Former New York Yankee Bernie Williams will perform live in concert on Friday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will take place at Hosmer Hall, located on the SUNY Potsdam campus.
Williams, a four-time World Series champion, is also a Latin Grammy nominated guitarist, having transitioned to a career in the music industry following his 16 year MLB career.

St. Lawrence Health issues reminder to get MMR vaccines for children entering childcare and public schools
MASSENA – A double dose of one vaccine can keep measles, mumps and rubella where they belong – in the past.
St. Lawrence Health reminds parents and guardians that all 50 states and the District of Columbia have state laws requiring children who are entering childcare or public schools to have certain vaccinations; the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is one of them.
Canton town board approve budget amendment for CHIPS, PAVE NY and EWR funds
CANTON – Members of the town board approved an amendment to the 2022-23 budget to accommodate for the recently allocated CHIPS, PAVE NY and Extreme Winter Recovery (EWR) funding from the New York state Department of Transportation.
The Town of Canton has the following funding amounts available for June payments:
CHIPS: $289,163.33; PAVE NY: $76.338.18; and EWR: $66,1206.49.
It was noted that these amounts are the same as last year’s allocation.
