State should investigate Potsdam’s dam disgrace
To the Editor:
There is much to write about concerning the Village of Potsdam and its dysfunctional activities –so much so that it is hard to pick out any single one and really lay it out in the open. Watertown Times writers have done a marvelous job of laying our village officials out in lavender on several occasions and on several fronts but they have missed one big one.
Getting things done
I have always said if we could gave Jim Sheehan and Dr. Marescia and Steve Kuno each a million dollars stimulus money they would create more jobs than anyone could believe. It is time people realize who are successful and get things done. This is what our economy needs today, not stonewalling by the county zoning board who have no interest in Potsdam.
Let Sheehan build
Once again Potsdam is dragging it’s feet. Mr Sheehan has a go ahead from his customer to build a dollar building and the powers that be can not expedite the process. A commercial building will fit in appropriately in that area. The hospital just did a grand renovation of the former St. Mary’s school, making it look attractive and keeping it on the tax roll for years to come. A regional office for NYSUT would provide years of revenue for Potsdam. Someone will have to maintain the building and grounds, teachers and others will travel to this office for business.
