Nurse practitioner leaves Brasher Falls Health Center for Clarkson

POTSDAM -- Noreen VonBorstel, FNP, BC, a Family Nurse Practitioner with Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Brasher Falls Community Health Center in Brasher Falls has moved to Clarkson University’s Student Health Center effective Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Ms. VonBorstel joins Susan Knowles, FNP, who has been with the student center, a service of Canton-Potsdam Hospital, since 2009.
VonBorstel joined the CPH Brasher Falls Community Health Center in 2008.

With a hard-working, smart effort, a pair of timely goals and a strong outing in the crease by junior Paul Karpowich (Thunder Bay, ONT), the Clarkson University Hockey team swept the regular-season series from archrival St. Lawrence with a 2-1 victory at Appleton Arena in Canton, NY on Tuesday night.

The Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team’s bid to remain unbeaten against archrival St. Lawrence for the regular season fell just short as the Saints pulled out a 2-1 victory in overtime at Appleton Arena in Canton on Tuesday afternoon.

Knights Nordic skiers earn first-place showings at USCSA Divisionals

Highlighted by an outstanding performance from the Golden Knight Women, the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team put in an impressive effort at the United State Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Divisionals held at Prospect Mountain Ski Center, Bennington, VT over the weekend. The Knight Men and Women won both the 10k skate and 10k classic races in convincing fashion.

Graveside services for 62 year old Paul J. Phelix, 249 Marsh Road, will be held in Visitation Cemetery in the springtime. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. There will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon held Saturday February 19, 2011 at the Norfolk American Legion at 12 noon for family and friends. A covered Dish is optional. Mr. Phelix passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 15, at his home.

Funeral service for 34-year old Michael Christopher Wilson of Town of Norfolk will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, with the Rev. Charles Gardner officiating. Michael died at his home on February 14, 2011. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the time of the service. Burial will be in the spring.
