Delta Kappa Gamma plans garage sale in Ogdensburg Aug. 6

OGDENSBURG – Members of Delta Kappa Gamma is hosting a garage sale August 6 from 9 a.m .to 1 p.m. at 310 Proctor Ave.
A variety of items will be available for sale.

Louisville Summer Bash to feature parade, pig roast, bed races, fireworks Aug. 12-14

LOUISVILLE – The Louisville Summer Bash will be held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 12-14 with a parade, a pig roast, bed races and fireworks.
The weekend will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday at the Louisville Fire Station #1, CR 39 & 36, with an ice cream social and Lion’s Club duck race.
On Saturday, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. on County Rt. 39, followed by a chicken barbecue at 11 a.m., firemen’s drills at 1 p.m. and a pig roast at 5 p.m.
Craft vendors, concessions, and a bounce house will be set up.

Jennifer Gotham's niece, Morgan Aragon, of Massena, and “dog friend,” Emma, were visiting her Parishville home at the same. They hit it off well, and were much more interested in their adventures together than in hanging out with the family. Emma is owned by Jennifer's stepdaughter, Bianca Brunea, and lives in LeRoy.
Potsdam student graduates from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

Jacklyn Richards of Potsdam, daughter of Marshall and Sherri Richards, has graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Hartwick College is a private liberal arts and sciences college of 1,500 students, located in Oneonta, NY, in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains.
Hartwick's expansive curriculum emphasizes a uniquely experiential approach to the liberal arts.

So I was curious if I was the only one concerned about the privatization of solid waste in St. Lawrence County. I understand the importance of budget cuts, however creating a monopoly for garbage haulers is going to hurt the country by putting many haulers out of business. I think as difficult as it may be, the county needs to focus on cuts to Social Services, for example the child care benefit many people receive to aid in child care expenses should be reviewed.

Seems to me that some of the people on the Potsdam dissolution committee are trying to make people afraid of combining the town and the village. I think we should be more afraid of not doing it! If the village doesn’t change the way it works, no one is going to want to live here and the businesses and colleges will suffer right along with it. This is too small a place for two governments.

(AMD), computer maker HP and other private businesses will work with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA ) to demonstrate how a network of wind- and solar-powered data centers could create a new model for data center and renewable energy operations.
