MASSENA – A chicken barbecue will be served at Moose Lodge 1110, 4 Ames St., on Jan. 29 starting at 2 p.m.
Price will be $8 per person.
The meal will also include a choice of sides and dessert
Take outs will be available by calling 769-5720.
A dart tournament will also begin at 3 p.m.

G. Louise “Wheezie” LaFave, 77, Lisbon

Funeral services for G. Louise “Wheezie” LaFave, age 77 of the Five Mile Line Road in Lisbon will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home in Ogdensburg with Rev. Melissa Mishoe officiating. Interment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will also be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. LaFave died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at her home.
SUNY Potsdam men’s and women’s hockey games relocated; women’s start time pushed back

Potsdam, N.Y.—Yesterday's suspended SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey game against Geneseo, as well as today’s women’s contest against Cortland, will be relocated to Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena.
The men will resume their game today, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m.
The women’s game, originally scheduled for 2 p.m., will start following the men’s game at approximately 4 p.m.
The men's game last night was suspended after one period due to a problem with the ice.

Plans underway for $125,000 all-season lodge at Higley Flow State Park

SOUTH COLTON -- The Friends of Higley Flow State Park will kick off a $125,000 capital campaign for a new all-season lodge during their Colton Winterfest Family Day at the Park on Saturday, Jan. 29.
The aim is to raise funds to build an all-season, multipurpose Higley Trails Lodge at Higley Flow State Park. $50,000 has already been pledged toward the effort.

CANTON – The SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers area organizations a chance to showcase their products and services to local women business owners on Wednesday, March 2 as part of the SBDC’s 5th Annual Women’s Business Bootcamp.
Exhibitors with products or services targeted to small businesses or women can take part in the resource expo being held in conjunction with the Bootcamp from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bootcamp attendees will be able to take advantage of breaks in the training schedule to visit the expo.

Society for Creative Anachronism to meet at SUNY Potsdam on Tuesdays

POTSDAM – The Potsdam branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Knowles Conference Center, SUNY Potsdam.
The SCA features medieval arts and crafts and demonstrations of armored combat.

Yale turns back Saints, 4-1

Yale's Kenny Agostino snapped a scoreless deadlock with the game's first goal at 12:40 of the second period, sending the top-ranked Elis to a 4-1 victory over St. Lawrence at Ingalls Rink Saturday night.
Yale improves to 17-2-0 overall and 11-1-0 in ECAC play while the Saints are now 7-12-4 and 3-8-0 in ECAC play. SLU finished its eight-game road trip with a 3-4-1 record and will play Princeton and Quinnipiac in its first home games since Dec. 18 next weekend.

Knights gain weekend split on the road with key victory at Brown

Junior defenseman Mark Borowiecki’s (Kanata, ONT) power play goal 2:06 into the third period snapped a 1-1 tie and would stand as the game-winner, as the Clarkson University Hockey team gained a key ECAC Hockey win on the road, defeating Brown 3-1 at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, RI on Saturday afternoon.
