Hamilton doubles up Potsdam women, 4-2

Clinton, N.Y.—Hamilton (7-9-0) scored three second period goals to break a 1-1 tie and hand the SUNY Potsdam Women’s hockey team (7-10-1) a 4-2 non-conference defeat on the road. Freshman forward Jenn Crawford (Burlington, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) and junior forward Caitlin Manahan (St. Albans, Vt./Elmira College) each scored for the Bears and Potsdam freshman goaltender Dawna Salvarinas (Mississauga, Ontario/Brampton Thunder) made 36 saves.

St. Lawrence County Maple Expo set for Jan. 29 in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- Maple syrup-makers, forest owners and the public are invited to the St. Lawrence County Maple Expo Saturday, Jan. 29 at Potsdam High School.
The event is designed for both beginner and experienced syrup-makers, as well as forest owners.

Five finish in double figures as Clarkson men close out St. Lawrence, 63-55

Canton, NY - Without a free throw attempt until the final six minutes of regulation, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team might have folded late, but the Golden Knights sunk eight free throws in the final moments to hold on for a 63-55 victory over St. Lawrence in Liberty League action Tuesday night at Burkman Gymnasium.

SLU women take down Golden Knights, 61-47

The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team used second-chance opportunities to defeat the Clarkson University Golden Knights in a Liberty League match-up Tuesday night in the Burkman Gymnasium. Junior co-captain Katie Edgerton led the Saints with 17 points and 9 rebounds, and first-year student Kelly Legg contributed 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 blocks. Chrissy Scanlon had 13 points and nine rebounds for Clarkson.

Clarkson looks to string together wins as ECAC hockey campaign heats up

Coming off a key ECAC Hockey win at Brown on Saturday, the Clarkson University Hockey team will look to build upon its momentum when it returns to Cheel Arena this weekend. The Golden Knights host Quinnipiac on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday the Green and Gold will be part of the first-ever Hockey Day in Potsdam when they faceoff against Princeton, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Robert "Wellie" Mott, 91, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011, at his home. He was born on November 14, 1919 in Massena, son of the late Robert Joseph and Sarah "Sadie" Mason Mott. He graduated from Massena High School and the New York Technical Institute.
