Eileen P. Euto, 81, 49 Churchill Avenue, passed away on Thursday, February 10, at Massena Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted on Wednesday.
Eileen was born on September 1, 1929, in Massena the daughter of Ellison R. and Irene L. Savage Price. She graduated from Massena High School in 1947. Eileen married Stanley F. Euto on June 26, 1948 at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joseph Dowd officiating. He predeceased her on March 9, 2009.

Arden McRae, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 9, at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.
There are no funeral services and a spring burial will be private in East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Arden was born in Syracuse on September 14, 1927, the son of William and Amy Allen McRae, and he attended Gouverneur area schools.
Adopt a retired racing greyhound at Potsdam Agway Saturday

POTSDAM – People will have a chance to adopt a 45 mph couch potato Saturday at Potsdam Agway.
Former racing greyhounds looking for a new home will be at Potsdam Agway, 14 Pine St., from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
People can meet former racing stars and their owners to learn more on how to adopt one of the regal hounds. Retired racing greyhounds are clean, affectionate loving pets.

CANTON – If the mid-winter blues have got you climbing the walls, organizers of the Canton Winterfest have come up with a slate of activities that will entertain the whole family.
Featuring free movies, sledding, music, a snowman contest, church concerts and more, Canton’s annual Winterfest will feature 13 days of events today through Feb. 19.
“It’s the one time when we all get together to break cabin fever,” said Sally Hill, chamber executive director. “It’s a great community event. We get a wide range of ages.”

Massena's Trinity Catholic School pancake breakfast Feb. 13

MASSENA – Trinity Catholic School will hold a pancake breakfast Sunday, Feb. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon in the school cafeteria, 188 Main St.
A breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice will be served.
The cost is $4 for adults, $3 for students, $14 for a family.

Three women charged with harassment for alleged fight on Potsdam street

POTSDAM – Village police charged three women with harassment and criminal mischief for an alleged fight they had last Saturday on Pierrepont Avenue.
Ruth E. Wheat, 18, Gowanda, N.Y., Laneise M. Goggans, 18, N.Y., N.Y., and Charon R. Brabham, 18, Queens, were all charged with second-degree harassment: physical contact and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to police.
Police allege the three were involved in a fight at 12:20 a.m. Feb. 5, in which they struck another female and caused damage to her clothing.

Crane jazz recital to feature duos, group pieces Sunday

POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will host a jazz recital with a blend of duos and group pieces at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13 in Snell Music Theater.
Michael Wilkinson, a visiting instructor of trombone at Crane, will be joined by Arizona State University jazz faculty member Keith Kelly.
They will collaborate on a program of jazz duos, and will be playing an assortment of low brass and woodwind instruments.
The students of the Crane All-Star Rhythm Section will also join Wilkinson and Kelly onstage for several numbers.
