Calling hours are Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Hermon with Rev. William Hart, pastor of the Hermon United Methodist Church officiating.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mr. Taylor passed away on Saturday (October 2, 2010) at United Helpers Nursing Home.
Mr. Taylor is survived by three daughters, Sharon Taylor of Florida, Wanda (Murray) Graveline of Florida, and Waneta Bristol of Georgia; a brother, Lawrence Taylor of Hammond; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday at the Frary Funeral Home from 10:30 am to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Ms. McPherson passed away on Saturday (October 2, 2010) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

Ogdensburg's Morley sisters score as Roos blank Vermont Tech 9-0 in soccer

The SUNY Canton women's soccer team received goals from six different players as they blanked Vermont Technical College 9-0 Sunday afternoon in Canton.
The Roos fired 36 shots at the Green Knights as they improved to 2-2 in the Sunrise Conference and 4-4 overall.
"We played really well today," said head coach Kate Thomas-Moody. "We scored two great goals off headers and it's terrific to see them implement what we have worked on in practice. It was also very important for the entire team to send Emily Bush off on a high note today."

Men's soccer clips Vermont Tech 1-0 for third straight win for Kangaroos

The SUNY Canton men's soccer team ran their winning streak to three games as they clipped Vermont Technical College 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Canton.
For the second day in a row the Roos controlled the game from the opening whistle and kept the ball in the offensive end for most of the game. SUNY Canton has now won five out of their last six games and improved to 5-1 in the Sunrise Conference and 5-4 overall.

Radiothon fundraiser for Hospice to run simultaneously on three broadcasting companies in November

Three radio broadcasting companies will simulcast the second annual Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley Radiothon fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.
Radio personalities from WSNN/99.3 FM, WPDM/1470 AM, WQTK/92.7 FM, WLFK/95.3 FM, 1340 WMSA, and WSLB/1400 AM will be encouraging support for the worthwhile work of Hospice.

PSATs in Canton on Wednesday

CANTON -- PSATs will be given at Canton Central School on Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 8 to 11 a.m. Students may sign up in the Guidance Office by bringing cash or a check for $13 made out to Canton Central School by Oct. 8.
All juniors considering college should take the test. Freshman and sophomores wanting to gain experience with the test may be allowed to sign up on a limited basis.

Swedish crime thriller “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” at Cinema 10 Monday night

POTSDAM – Cinema 10 continues its fall 2010 season on Monday, Oct. 4 with a showing of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” or “Män som hatar kvinnor,” a 2009 Swedish crime thriller.
The film is based on a popular crime novel of the same name.
The story centers on a disgraced journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, sentenced to prison after losing a libel case brought against him by a powerful industrialist.
