Roo softball vs. Presque Isle on Saturday cancelled
(Canton, N.Y.)- The softball doubleheader scheduled with the University of Maine at Presque Isle today has been cancelled due to rain.
The two teams will play three games on Sunday to determine the Sunrise Conference regular season championship. Both teams are 8-0 in conference play. The first game will start at 11 a.m.
SLU women's 4x800 wins, 4 seconds at Cortland Invitational on Saturday
St. Lawrence University's women's 4x800 relay team won its race and four Saint athletes took individual second place finishes in day two of the Cortland Invitational on Saturday.
The Saint team of Katie Loignon, Jenna Hulton, Jacquelynn Lemme and Wendy Pavlus ran 9:51.51 to win the 4x800 by 21 seconds over second place Oneonta in the lone Saint event win on Saturday.
SLU's Fox wins 800, 4x100, Kane add 2nds at Cortland
Michael Fox won the 800 meters, Brian Kane was second in the high jump and the 4x100 relay team finished second to highlight St. Lawrence University's men's track team's performance in the Cortland Invitational on Saturday.
Saints men's crew finish third in Liberty League championships
The St. Lawrence University men's crew team's varsity 8+ finished in third place overall at the 2011 Liberty League Rowing Championships on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, NY on Saturday.
The Saints, who lost their heat to Union College by .2 seconds, raced in a time of 6:03.9 in the finals. Hobart College retained the conference championship with a time of 5:35.1 while Union was second in 5:56.1.
William Smith women's crew outduels Saints for conference title
The St. Lawrence University women's crew team saw its three-year reign as Liberty League champions come to an end on Saturday, as William Smith College topped the Saints by 4 seconds in the varsity 8+ race to earn the 2011 championship on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, NY.
SLU women's tennis downs Hamilton, 8-1, on Senior Day
The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team wrapped up its regular-season home slate with an 8-1 win over Hamilton on Wednesday night in Canton, NY. The Saints, ranked No. 16 in the Northeast region, move to 8-2 with the victory.

Mr. Michael Edward White, age 57, of Kawehnoke Apartment Road, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday at his home.
Michael was born on February 25, 1954, in Syracuse, NY, the son of Joseph and Marion Louise Benedict White. He attended schools in St. Regis and Cornwall.
He was a self employed contractor owning Kawehnoke Concrete and Renovations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecelia A. Curtis, 84, of Brookdale, will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Brasher Falls. Her family will receive friends at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Brasher Falls.
Mrs. Curtis passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 21, 2011 while under the care of Hospice at the home of her daughter in Central Square NY, where she had resided since June 2010.
