Rivergrass Band plays Sunday in Gouverneur Riverview Park Concert Series
GOUVERNEUR – North Country bluegrass music group Rivergrass Band will perform Sunday, Aug. 1 as part of The Riverview Park Concert Series in Gouverneur this summer.
All concerts begin at 4 p.m. in the park on Route 58 (Natural Dam Road). A small donation to the Riverview Park is suggested to help maintain the facility and keep the program going.

• Aug. 15: Al Beatrus and Friends Band - singing 50’s and 60’s music
Waiting on order to ‘move or remove building’
To the Editor:
For two years I have worked tirelessly to persuade the Town of Potsdam’s Zonng Board of Appeals (ZBA) to rule that my neighbor, Gard Meserve (1070 River Road, Norwood), must comply with the building code in the Town of Potsdam.
Finally, when I showed up at the November 2009 ZBA meeting with my attorney, it was determined in a final ruling that Meserve had to “either move or remove the building.” To date, the building has been neither moved nor removed.

Massena High Class of '60 celebrates with reunion Friday & Saturday
MASSENA – Members of the Massena Central High School class of 1960 will celebrate their 50th reunion Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31.

Registration Sunday for Canton football camp for kids that starts Monday
CANTON – The Canton Football Program will hold registration for the annual football camp for players entering grades 3 through 12 on Sunday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Canton Central School Football Practice Fields.
The camp will run from Aug. 2 through 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will receive quality instruction from Golden Bear varsity, junior varsity, and modified coaches who are passionate about the game of football.
This is a non-contact camp with an emphasis on developing fundamentals, skills, and techniques.
Stringfolks, folk musicians who highlight North Country history, will perform at the Russell Opera House Saturday, July 31 at 7 p.m. The performance is free to the public and refreshments will be served. MASSENA – Ernst and Patricia Hauer of Massena proudly announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Caitlin Mary Levere, to Ryan M. Toth.
Caitlin is a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Cornwall, Ont. She received her B.S. and M.S in Education from SUNY Potsdam.
She is currently a fifth grade teacher at the M.M. Pierce Elementary school in Remington, Va.
She is the daughter of Georges and the late Mary Ann (Hauer) Levere of Cornwall, Ont.
