SUNY Canton hosting virtual open house Dec. 1 for early childhood program
CANTON -- SUNY Canton invites prospective students to learn about Early Childhood degree programs at a virtual open house from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.
Guests can log on and learn about the Associate of Science in Early Childhood Studies and the Bachelor of Business Administration in Early Childhood Care and Management, both of which can be completed entirely online. Faculty will discuss curriculum, practical experiences, admission requirements and career opportunities. All attendees will be entered to win a $250 scholarship.
MASSENA -- The family of Travis L. Douillet, are greatly saddened to announce the unexpected passing of their son Wednesday evening, at his family home.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home of Massena. As per the family's wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services. A full obituary to follow in next publication.

Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign runs through Christmas in Potsdam
POTSDAM — This year, the Potsdam area will once again participate in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign from now until Christmas.
The Red Kettle will be located at various local retailers, including the WALMART, Potsdam Price Chopper, and Potsdam IGA stores.
Money raised at these locations will be used to assist those in need in our community.
The Salvation Army is in need of volunteer bell ringers to help out the community.

Improvements continue at Massena airport

MASSENA – Things continue to improve at the Massena Airport, with officials approving a handful of purchases and reimbursements at the most recent town board meeting on Nov. 17.
Officials approved the purchase of a QT Petroleum on demand self-serve fueling system at a cost of $20,570.
Taxpayers won’t pay a dime for the new system as the town will seek reimbursement through the CARES Act.
Norfolk Historical Museum offering holiday program for seniors, shut-ins
NORFOLK – A program to brighten the winter months for the Norfolk area elderly and shut-ins is being offered again this year, as well as Norfolk Historical Museum calendars.
The Norfolk Historical Museum’s giving program, named “Unity for the Community,” started last year during COVID.
Organizer Theresa Dumas, Norfolk museum’s historian and curator, said cards and small gifts will be mailed in December, January and February, with themes of Christmas, Thinking of You, and Valentines.
Virtual Teen Leadership Summit to be held in Canton Nov. 30 for all county teens
CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau has partnered with JC Pohl, with Teen Truth 365, to offer a virtual Teen Leadership Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
