OGDENSBURG - Well known North Country radio personality Dave Merz, host of “Merz in the Morning” on YesFM, will host tonight’s Ogdensburg Free Academy Key Club Talent Show at 7 p.m. at the George Hall Auditorium at OFA.
Merz, a graduate of Oklahoma City University, is the Operations Manager at Stephens Media Group in Ogdensburg, where he oversees two morning shows (oldies and top 40), works as program director for four shows, three websites and countless social media accounts.
A veteran of the radio business for close to 30 years and a North Country broadcaster for over 20 years, Merz has been a familiar presence in the St. Lawrence Valley since coming to Ogdensburg after stints in Georgia and Vermont.
The spring talent show on Friday, May 20 will feature nine acts with 18 student performers. Admission is $5.
Performers will include:
Elementary School Division
Matthew Sutherland, grade 3, Kennedy School, will sing “Better Days” by Chewiecatt
Junior High Division
Logan Moran, an OFA 8th grader, will play “For Memories” by Wilbur Soot on
guitar
High School Division
Cadence Payne, a senior, Delia Payne, a ninth grader, and Graci Chase, a ninth grader from OFA will sing a very special song.
Miah Cross and Jessica French, two 10th graders from OFA, will sing “Demons.”
Lilly Stars, a freshman from OFA, will sing “Bad Life” by Sigrid.
Khai Walsh, a sophomore, will perform flags to Rihanna’s “Pon de Replay.”
Hunter Power and Kalos Lawrence, two OFA sophomores will dance “Good to be Bad” by the Descendants.
Dante Rodriguez, an OFA 10th grader and Julie Johnson, an OFA 9th grader, will dance and perform baton twirling to the song “Liquid Smooth.”
Christopher Rodriguez, William Demers, Jackson Duprey, Michael Rodriguez and Evelyn Davis, a group of OFA 7th, 9th and 10th graders will play “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.
