POTSDAM — Work continued this week for the Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Regional Care Pavilion with a temporary closure of the Cottage Street portion owned by St. Lawrence Health.
The $71.8 million expansion project of the hospital is expected to last until 2025.
“Construction efforts for the preparation of the Regional Care Pavilion are moving steadily along,” stated St. Lawrence Health and Canton-Potsdam Hospital President Donna McGregor. “Our staff and the construction crews have been very cognizant in doing their best to make any impacts on our patients and visitors as minimal as possible.”
So far new sidewalks have been constructed along the south side of Cottage Street. Work continues on the creation of a temporary entrance on the Cottage Street side of the hospital. In addition the Grove Street parking lot has been expanded.
“We appreciate the patience of our neighbors and everyone who comes to Canton-Potsdam Hospital when they may experience a flag person or a slow moving construction vehicle in the area,” Mrs. McGregor said.
“The end product of this project will provide our community at large with an amazing and updated healthcare facility,” the president said.
