A winter weather advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County through 7 p.m. as heavy snow continues to fall across Northern New York, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Travel will be difficult during the morning commute due to snow covered roads and low visibilities, forecasters say. Areas of blowing snow this afternoon could significantly reduce visibility and make for additional travel issues.
Snow will likely end after 4 p.m. with 2-4 more inches to fall before then, the service says. Tonight will see a low around -3 with wind chill values of -16, forecasters say.

Tonight
A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around -3. Wind chill values as low as -16. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday
Sunny and cold, with a high near 8. Wind chill values as low as -17. West wind around 7 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around -7. Calm wind.
Saturday
Snow after 1pm. High near 28. Light east wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Snow before 1am, then snow showers after 1am. Low around 22. Southwest wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Sunday
Snow showers, mainly before 1pm. High near 30. Southwest wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
